Don't you just LOVE the expression on the "Bug"s face? LOL... These photos were actually taken in July of 2004 at my sisters place. This LO is for 2 different Challenges @ DSP... "Monthly Club Digital Contest" for Feb 08. and "Scrap With This and Win" for Feb 08, using A heart, An Overlay, and A Pink BG.

Masquerade Girl

Thinking of Halloween and Masquerades on this one.  Used Sakura Watercolors, Tombow Markers and a Sharpie.

Ady Almanza FB Challenge

The group set up a challenge to do 5 speed paintings as fast as possible for practice, as these tend to be a bit tricky with no eraser allowed, LOL.

While it's fun and fast to do these, I still wish I could sketch/correct oddities...

Semi- Speed Painting

Tried Speed Painting again, but took a bit more time and used Water color pencils instead of Tombow Markers.

Trying out my new Tombow Markers...

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

This girly was done in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness in October.
Used my new Tombow markers, some new Golden Fluid Acrylics, other acrylics, Colored Pencils, Sakura Water Colors and the usual Sharpie.

A couple more pieces that weren't posted here, mostly acrylics were used and some stamps:

Found a few pieces I've done that I didn't post here for some reason.... brain dead some days, LOL.

"Love",  Trying to learn to use Prisma Colored Pencils, don't much like them.

Had a bleed through of markers in my cheap journal, so I painted the pages black and used a watercolor pencil to sketch on top of that.  Fun to do something different :)

Thursday, October 4, 2012

One of my art groups, "Willowing" had a "Bee Girl" challenge recently, love these odd topics, LOL.  Used Sakura Water Colors, Water Color Pencils, Neo Color Crayons, a bit of acrylics and a Sharpie.

Doll Dreams October 2012 Challenge is "SpeedPainting" using water based markers and those neat water paint brushes that come with water color field kits by Sakura, but available otherwise too.  I didn't have a water based marker, so I used water color pencils, worked out just fine.

Sketching in a blank journal, a moleskin would be nice, maybe someday :)

Saturday, August 11, 2012

This is "Red", the sketch was done while waiting at the Dr's office.  I have a blank journaling book I carry around... I scanned the image and printed it onto my Canson XL Mix-Media paper to paint.  Used Acrylics and Sakura Water Color.

Another page done in the magazine I'm painting over, this is "Goldie", and after she was done... I noticed how odd shaped her eye/forehead were... poor girl, LOL.   Used Acrylics, stencils and Sakura Water Colors.

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

I've been painting over the pages of a magazine that has heavy pages so takes liquid well.  This is the front cover, done in acrylics, Sakura Water colors, Pigment Ink pads with Stamps, embossing powder, and a wee bit of Prisma Color Pencils.  I'm LOVING those Sakura Water Colors, it's the field kit, but has 20 some colors of very strong pigments.

Doll Dreams Aug Challenge to paint a Matryoshka, here's my version of the nesting dolls originally made in Russia.  Used Acrylics, Sakura Water Colors, Sharpie and Prisma Color Pencils.

Find Your Strength

I had in mind all my friends and family who are going through hard times and need to feel the small things in life that bring joy.
Base coated in Acrylics with stencils, main picture done in Sakura Water Colors, word details are black Prisma Color Pencils.

"Faith, Hope, Love"
Painted on magazine pages with loads of layers... acrylics, stamps, and ink sprays... on the background, then the girl was done in mostly Sakura Water Colors to keep her and her hair a bit transparent so some of the background would show through.  I've been meaning to try this technique for a long time as the look sparked my interest and was fun to do!

I got the Wild and Reckless prompt piece done today...
She's called Lavendar Lucy...
She brings to mind Zsa Zsa a bit, must be the hair style :)

Oh my!  Week 4 prompt for 2012 Summer of Color was just posted, this should be fun:

I recently joined Doll Dreams with Ady Almanza.  She does amazing big eyed dolls and I thought to give it a try.  How on earth she gets the lashes so fine, I can't imagine.
