It was so hot here at the house today, even early, and the only place I have a window AC is in the kitchen...  So I tacked up sheets on the doorways, carted in my art supplies from the craft room and set to work...
Now all I have to do is figure out where to put the chase lounge to sleep tonight, LOL.
This weeks prompt for  2012 Summer of Color at Twinkle, Twinkle is Strawberry Lemonade Punch.  My Grandson Bailey wanted a girl with a towel around her hair... This is what G-Ma came up with:

Baseball Nut Ice Cream Girl for 2012 Color of Summer: Ice Cream Inspirations.
Done on canvas board with acrylics, Neo Color II crayons, Sharpies, and Bic Mark-its.

Baseball Nut is the color prompt from 2012 Summer of Color: Ice Cream for Week 3.
I have no idea where this set of colors will go, but I'm loving the cream and raspberry!

"Minty Chocolate Chip"
Had to try out my new Sakura Water Color Field Box kit.  Then added some zentangle.  There was a really cool water fallible paint brush in the kit, just squeeze a bit for more water. FUN!
Another post for the 2012 Summer of Color: Ice Cream Prompts.
The scanner did a lousy job again, couldn't get the picture flat on the scan bed glass, now it's blurry.  Sorry.

This was done for the Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Prompt at

"Curly Shirley"
This poor girl has been hanging around for weeks undone, I've decided I'm not a fan of Canvas Board, don't like painting with acrylic on that rough surface.  So I slathered on the paint real think on the bkg and face and quit for ages.  Just today got busy and added all the hair and face color and detail.  I can say, she's different than any I've done so far.

Week # 1 inspiration is sherbert ice cream.  She's been sitting in my sketchbook for more than a year and I couldn't come up with what I wanted to do with her until this Blog Event came along.  She came to mind immediately.  I had intended to put some color on the cardboard bkg, but decided it would detract from the inspiration colors.

Just noticed that her blond top didn't show up as bright as IRL, forgot to press down on the page when it scanned, I really have to get a larger scanner, it doesn't do well when my whole sketch book is on it and I have to double scan most things and stitch them together.
